Cheap Puppies

Cheap Puppies

When you’re shopping for cheap puppies for sale, keep in mind that there’s more to a puppy than its price tag. More than anything else, a puppy is a living being. You can’t just throw it away or abandon it when it gets too expensive to maintain. Besides this, you need to think about medical care, grooming, feeding, cleaning up plus all the time you and your family members need to spend taking care of it.

Buying Cheap Puppies For Sale

Buying cheap puppies from a breeder is not easy. Above all, it has to be a reputable breeder who cares about the dogs they’re selling. Many breeders do it just for the money. These are the ones who’ll just sell you cheap puppies without probing your background and motives for getting a pet. They just want money. A good breeder will ask you a lot of questions and will give you a record of all the puppy’s shots. If you buy a “pure-bred” puppy, it will be expensive for sure. Unfortunately the costs don’t stop there, since purebreds can be difficult to groom and/or care for.

Adopting Puppies

The best place to find cheap puppies are in your local animal or humane shelter. In other words, you want to adopt a puppy instead of buying one. Animal shelters keep dogs and cats because they care about them. They are actively looking for good people to adopt these animals. So you can be sure that first, the puppy you’ll get from them is well cared for. Second, they will give you the puppy at a really cheap cost. In many cases, you pay only for the shots or neutering/spaying. Of course you need to argue and work around the latter if you don’t approve of it.

When adopting a puppy, make sure it’s healthy and clean (i.e. free from mites and stuff). Tell the animal shelter people that what kind of pet you want. Do you need a couch potato type? Or a hyper-active one? Will you be spending a lot of time with the puppy? You need to match its personality with yours and your family. This will save you the trouble of buying another puppy if you have to give that one up.

Another cheap way to get a puppy is by asking friends, neighbors or family for one. There are always new puppies being born and their owners need to find good homes for them. You’ll have the added benefit of getting a pet from someone you know. You may even let your dogs visit one another and make friends. If you don’t know anyone, go to your local veterinarian. The vet will be able to refer you to animal lovers he or she knows.
